BrosMed Medical Announces CE Mark and Launch of Wedge™ Semi-complaint Scoring PTCA

October 27th, 2017—BrosMed Medical announced CE Mark and Launched its Wedge™ Scoring PTCA Balloon for the treatment of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) for the purpose of improving myocardial blood flow in the localized stenotic lesion of the coronary arteries.

As apart of BrosMed Medical balloon catheter portfolio, Wedge™ Semi-complaint Scoring PTCA balloon is designed to satisify clinical needs which current cutting/scoring PTCA not met. The aim of Wedge™ Semi-Compliant Scoring PTCA balloon would be simply treated as workhorse PTCA for small/difussed/calcified lesion which would maximally eliminate dissection with minimal slippage phenomena. With smallest 1.5mm balloon diameter available, up to 30mm balloon length and comprehensive configurations including quarter sizes will provide more choices while current scoring not.

According to the company, Wedge™ is rapid exchange PTCA balloon catheter which  required limited training to the physicians and it will not alter physicians’ current practice and Wedge™ PTCA would be used like conventional PTCA. Constructed with engineered material, the Wedge™ Semi-complaint Scoring PTCA catheter has consistent rated burst pressures of 14atm from φ1.5 to φ4.0mm.
